A neck band is a short sleeve used mainly around a cap or closure, while a full-body sleeve is a decorative or informational label that covers much more of the container. The applicator, sleeve handling and tunnel duty can be different.

Security bands
Neck bands are used to show that a cap, lid or closure has not been opened. Placement tolerance and perforation quality are important because the consumer needs to see and remove the seal easily.
Full coverage
Full-body sleeves are chosen for decoration, promotional packs and containers that need more label area than a conventional label panel allows. Tunnel performance and artwork distortion become more important.
Avoid poor fit
Small pack or sleeve differences can change the correct applicator, mandrel, conveyor and tunnel arrangement. These checks help prevent a machine being chosen on headline speed alone.
Quote details
For a useful recommendation, send the container dimensions, filled weight, sleeve material, lay-flat, cut length, target output, photos or drawings, and where the sleeve needs to sit on the pack. If the project is going into an existing line, include available conveyor height, line direction, utilities and footprint.

Some machines can be configured for both, but sleeve range, mandrels, cut length and tunnel settings need checking.
Often they can be, but speed depends on container stability, sleeve feed and tunnel capacity.
Not always, but difficult shapes and high-shrink artwork often benefit from steam or carefully controlled tunnel design.
