Sample testing reduces risk before a sleeve applicator is supplied. It is especially useful for shaped bottles, high-shrink artwork, lightweight packs and new sleeve materials.

Test inputs
Testing should use real or production-like containers, caps, filled weights and sleeves. Empty or substitute packs can behave differently through the applicator and tunnel.
Test outputs
A good trial should check position, wrinkles, artwork, barcode readability, tamper evidence, removal and downstream handling.
Avoid poor fit
Small pack or sleeve differences can change the correct applicator, mandrel, conveyor and tunnel arrangement. These checks help prevent a machine being chosen on headline speed alone.
Quote details
For a useful recommendation, send the container dimensions, filled weight, sleeve material, lay-flat, cut length, target output, photos or drawings, and where the sleeve needs to sit on the pack. If the project is going into an existing line, include available conveyor height, line direction, utilities and footprint.

Trial protocol
A useful trial uses representative production containers, closures and sleeve reels. Where filled product cannot be supplied, agree a safe weight-matched sample and record the difference. Substitute packs should not be accepted silently because weight, stiffness, temperature and surface condition can change handling and shrink.
Agree the test sequence before the run: setup, low-rate observation, target-rate run, stops and restarts, difficult-format checks, changeover and inspection of cooled finished packs.
Give every container and sleeve a sample reference. Record dimensions, batch, artwork revision and the reason it was selected. Include the format expected to expose the highest feed, placement, shrink or handling risk.
Photograph the applied sleeve before the tunnel and the cooled pack from consistent views. A short video should show infeed, application, tunnel entry, exit and recovery after a normal stop.
An action such as “adjust tunnel” is not closed until the revised setting, affected format and approved result are recorded. Separate changes that require new tooling, artwork, sleeve material or site services from normal setup adjustments.
Retain approved samples for comparison during manufacture, FAT, commissioning and later troubleshooting.
